Mrs. Gatlin's Classroom Blog: Oh no!

I'm already falling behind on the blog, ugh. Ok, I'm going to try again to keep things updated. Please be patience with me, thanks.

Reading Homework Expectations

What can I read?

Any chapter book you wish, provided that it is appropriate for you. Magazines, newspapers, books of lists, manuals, comic books, etceteras don’t have the big chunks of text you need to develop fluency, and they won’t help you discover who you are as a reader of literature.

How much do I need to read?

You need to read every week, but you can determine how to divide up the time. For an A, you need to read AT LEAST 250 minutes a week. For a B, you need to read AT LEAST 200 minutes a week. For a C, you need to read AT LEAST 150 minutes a week. For a D, you need to read AT LEAST 100 minutes a week.
